AsiaMeets 2024, themed "Asia Rises - The Impact of Design,"

On the morning of September 26, 2024, the AsiaMeets 2024 event, themed "Asia Rises - Impact from Design," was inaugurated at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE).

The event is a close collaboration between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, the Asian Design Alliance, the Alliance of Professionals in Action, and leading design companies such as NPG Vietnam Trading Company Limited and Haki Company. The program aims not only to celebrate the creativity of designers in the region but also to promote the connection between art and modern life.

The AsiaMeets 2024 event, with its official activities taking place over two days from September 26-27, 2024, is the result of extensive collaboration across various fields of design research and training between businesses, design communities both domestically and internationally, and Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Architecture & Planning, the Department of Art Fundamentals, and other domestic and international businesses and design communities.

In his opening remarks at the event, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tung - Rector of Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, shared: Hanoi University of Civil Engineering is proud to be the host of the main activities of the AsiaMeets 2024 event. Hanoi University of Civil Engineering hopes this will be an opportunity for the university's experts to exchange academic knowledge, enhance their capabilities, and inspire students - the designers of the future. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Tung believes that this will be a solid starting point for closer cooperation in the near future, opening up opportunities for strong development of the design industry in Vietnam.

With the participation of numerous designers from across Asia and Vietnam, the event aims to celebrate and elevate Asian design, reflecting the continent's economic and cultural resurgence, while preserving and promoting the rich cultural values of the nation for future generations.

This is a valuable opportunity for the School and co-organizing units to exchange and showcase unique ideas, perspectives, exciting experiences, captivating works, and outstanding design products; contributing to the preservation and promotion of culture as well as fostering creativity in production and business; and connecting a network of designers from across Asia to gather in Hanoi.

Associate Professor Hoang Tung, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, presented certificates to individuals and organizations that made significant contributions to the organization of the event.

AsiaMeets 2024 not only provides valuable lessons but also creates opportunities for students to participate more deeply in the cultural and creative industries. The exhibited products, academic exchanges, and experiences of international experts will serve as a "breath of fresh air," guiding and leading students in the creative design field of the cultural industry.

The school has also planned to support students in making the most of the opportunities from AsiaMeets 2024. Participating domestic and international organizations and individuals in AsiaMeets 2024, in addition to exchanging, sharing, and showcasing design trends and innovative products, are also seeking high-quality human resources. This is a great opportunity for students to participate in the supply chain, production, or consumption of the cultural industry.

Opening of the International Design Exhibition at the Event

In the near future, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering has planned to develop new training programs in the field of creative design within the applied arts group, including: Industrial Design, Graphic Design, and Fashion Design, helping students broaden their learning scope and enhance their capabilities to meet the increasing demands of the cultural industry.
